Valentine’s Day is approaching and if you’re in the mood to celebrate, you will need a great outfit for the occasion. At Pavilion, we are more than just a boutique, we offer styling advice, inspiration and tips–and this week, we are centering our styling guide around early spring trends, and how to integrate them into your Valentine’s Day outfit.
Feminine florals are starting to sprout as the season slowly makes its way into spring, so be early to the trend and incorporate a dose of florals into your Valentine’s Day attire. These airy yet vibrant prints will carry you through spring, making them a worthwhile investment now. Make them appropriate for a night out to dinner by integrating a light toned blazer and neutral sandals. Don’t forget hints of color in your jewelry for a feminine, romantic look.
Touchable textures are all the rage right now–from shiny satin to airy silk to cloudlike cashmere, fabrics that feel incredible on the skin are in style, and who wouldn’t want to feel touchable on Valentine’s Day? Integrate a touchable fabric of your choice into your outfit, and keep the rest of the outfit monochromatic to let it shine. If you are less into florals and feminine frills, this is your sign to go all black with your outfit! Add textural interest to your look by layering two sheer fabrics together, then topping it off with a sleek silky jacket. This is a great way to incorporate subtle touches of playfulness while still looking chic and simple.
Naturally at Pavilion we are fans of sneakers all year long, but make them extra sweet for the romantic holiday by picking pairs with pops of pink and gold. Choose from pink zebra heeled Superstars with gold leather stars, or our current favorite Mid Star with pink laces and gold trim. Gold is a great choice for a celebratory nod because it works well with many different outfits and styles. We suggest playing up the gold touches by pairing them with touchable gold silk in the form of a figure flattering bias cut skirt, while keeping the rest of the outfit simple to let them take center stage. Add pops of sparkling gold jewelry like a key to your heart necklace as a subtle nod to the holiday, and you’re ready to indulge in a lovely dinner with your Valentine.
