Summer Shirting Two Ways

A white button down shirt is a perennial fashion favorite for the warmer months. Whether it be a crisp cotton poplin or a breezy Belgian Linen, there’s always myriad ways to wear your favorite blouse without looking like you’re headed into your next board meeting. Style, shape, fabric and fit can be huge game-changers in how you sport your shirts. You may want to opt for big and blousy for the beach or streamlined and fitted for a polished look, whatever your preference we’re showing you how we’re wearing one of our all time favorite classic styles two ways this summer.

It’s all about the oversized shirt this summer and this week we’re loving the Basic Shirt from Closed, technically from the men’s section of Pavilion. All photos are shown in a mens size large (model is traditionally a womens small in tops) but this exaggerated look can easily be achieved by taking a size up or two in your favorite styles from the women’s side. We’re still loving the cotton gauze Ellis Shirt from Rails if you want something super soft and lightweight. Take your oversized top to the water and turn it into the perfect swimsuit cover up. If it’s long enough this can double as a caftan or keep things open and unbutton with your go to cutoffs. Running errands? Toss your tunic over your workout gear and tie things up to show off your latest sweat set. Whatever you choose, there’s so many ways to style and re-style the simple white shirt that might already be in your closet just waiting to be worn.
