As the world starts to ease “Stay at Home” orders, it’s beginning to feel like there might be a light at the end of the tunnel. While some smaller community businesses (like ours at Pavilion) may be allowed to slowly re-open, many will continue to work from home and conduct virtual conferences via video chat. No matter how you’re working, it’s clear Covid-19 will continue to change and impact our functional lives as we know it. In this week’s editorial, we are focusing on what ties an outfit together on top, at home or out and about, we are going to show you a full range of top styles from a tee, to a knit, to our favorite “work from home” blouse, perfect for each in every occasion in our new lives.

Blouses may seem like a bigger ask as we all sit at home but for those of you on all day conference calls, it may be an easy silver bullet. Change things up with your new favorite button down, throw it on top of our sweatpants - no one will know. The Lilah Blouse in Black Snake by Anine Bing is the luxe blouse of our dreams. This menswear inspired button down is sewn up in a sleek tonal black jacquard making it a moody yet classy work staple. Taking nuances from the classic button down and mixing it with feminine detailing, we love the open neck, tonal print and flat laying collar. The silky fabrication holds the voluminous sleeve beautifully without overpowering the other elements. Black pairs effortlessly with just about anything, but we love how this blouse looks tucked into a pair of ultra high rise denim such as the Pinch Waist High Rise Kick Jeans in Subdued by Agolde. Part of the brand’s Feel Good Collection, these jeans are crafted using innovative technology used for Agolde’s sustainability initiative. The 12 ¼” rise and subtle kick flare silhouette give these a super high waisted retro feel, but the addition of elastane gives them comfort and stretch. The ankle crop pairs perfectly barefoot or with your favorite footwear for when you step out.

The cardigan is still the craze of the season, and all of our favorite brand’s are dropping them left and right, making it too hard to choose. Loulou Studio, the mecca of all things knit, has blessed us with the perfect “Grandma-chic” cardi - the Tiberine Cardigan in Anthracite Melange. This soft-slouch style is knit in a super comfortable wool blend featuring a button-front v neckline and ultra-feminine balloon sleeves. We are going crazy over the ashy grey hue and oversized tonal black buttons. Wear this cardigan on it’s own, or test it’s layering abilities by wearing it atop a fitted tank for more coverage and warmth. Keep things minimal yet chic by pairing this sweater back with similar tones. We went with our favorite it-jean, the Toni Mid-Rise Straight in Feral from Agolde. These super soft and stretchy jeans feature a muted black wash with a comfortable mid-rise fit. We love the subtle straight fit combined with the ankle crop frayed hem. Keep things grunge by tying everything together with a black boot, or go optimistic and springy with a fun sneaker or slide.
