New Knits

The cold months are all about filling your closet with comfy, cozy pieces - especially sweaters, lots and lots of knits. As we emerge from our wintery hibernation, the first spring induced sweat is a signal it's time to tuck those warm pieces away. Since sweaters are something we love year round, it begs the question: how does one wear knits all the time? They are soft, fashionable and flattering, especially when they fit just right. The good news is, we see a spring sweater knit trend in a way that won't trigger your sweat glands. We’re seeing a seasonal uptick of tank tops and knit dressing from all of our favorite Pavilion brands. Branch out from your traditional winter sweater and see how we are styling some brand new luxe knit pieces on this week's Editorial. The perfect pieces for your much-needed spring refresh.

Historically, Moussy Vintage has been our go-to denim brand, but that's not all they're good at. Moussy's new knitwear, particularly the Rib Knit Tank Top in Ivory, is a form-fitting cotton sweater tank that is the perfect closet staple. This Japanese-made crop top features substantial wide straps with a chic v-neckline and v-back. The ribbed fabrication is cool and loose, making this item luxurious and fuss-free. With a cropped body length, pair your tank with a  super high rise paint. We love the straight leg, color contrast, and elevated appeal we get with RE/DONE's Comfort Stretch High Rise Stove Pipe in Jet Black. Keep things simple and understated in a fun sneaker with a bit of color. We went with the Superstar in White Leo Star with Fuchsia Heel by Golden Goose. The black laces add a little bit of tonality while still providing some added print and pink.

Dress things up a bit, and slip into another Moussy (non-denim) favorite, the Rib Knit Dress in Black. This simple, elegant “t-shirt dress” is the perfect everyday piece for all of your plans, casual or not. Featuring a long-line fitted short sleeve, this ribbed sweater knit will hug all of your curves and give you ultimate comfort and satisfaction. This dress features an easy scooped neckline and classy midi length, offering an elegant alternative to the "little black dress." We want to embrace spring in full force, so we paired our midi dress with Dolce Vita's Grant Flat in Ivory Raffia for a little bit of natural texture.

Lastly, we have to give Loulou Studio some credit for all of the mega-luxe sweaters they gave us to survive the cold, along with some gratitude for their fresh new SS21 collection. The Parisian-minimalist label of our dreams, we are not disappointed with their best-selling, spring-approved Gaya Dress in Black. This long sleeve dress is a chic midi-length knit piece made from a linen-silk blend intricately interwoven using a wide vertical rib, providing some chic fashioning and texture framing the chest. This mock turtleneck is balanced by two side slits that offer a hint sexiness and movement. For a more elevated look, dress things up with a neutral heel, or keep things casual and modern with a one strap sandal such as the Arezzo in Black by K. Jacques.
