If you’re arriving late to the denim party and aren’t familiar with Moussy, you’re seriously missing out. This Japanese brand specializes in handmade jeans cut and distressed from premium selvage denim, perfected to every tiny detail. Known for their intricate and unique signature distressed fabrications, Moussy Vintage denim is a go-to jean that lasts a lifetime. This week we have three new and exciting styles with fresh washes and a variety of silhouettes. Keep reading for a thorough style and fit guide of three distinctly different pairs.

Marshall Boy Skinny - Blue:

1. These 100% cotton super high rise jeans come up “fashion high” with a 11.7” rise hugging and flattering any body type. This is a tapered fit that feels like an updated “boy” jean, less baggy than a boyfriend jean but not tight and skinny.
2. This chic high rise is the perfect pair for all of your favorite cropped and shorter length tops. We love showing off this high waistband with a simple bodysuit like the Rianne in White from AGOLDE. AMO’s Shirt Jacket in Army Green is the perfect layer for evenings and air conditioning.  
3. Cut in a nostalgic vintage inspired heavy cotton, true-blue wash with natural fading at the thighs. These jeans have hints of hand-done distressing with a blown-out right leg (just above the knee) for a true worn-in feel.
4. Slightly cropped with a 27.5” inseam and a leg opening of 6.4”, these semi-skinny straights sit comfortably at a standard ankle crop length with a loose finish that doesn't hug the ankle. For the petite ladies don't be afraid to cut these yourself! Keep things summer fresh by pairing the Marshall’s with a neutral slide like the Dolce Vita Grant Flat in Ivory Raffia.
5. These are heavyweight and rigid but will soften and grow over time. We recommend sizing up if you are in-between sizes. Take your true size if small waisted and let these mold to your shape.

Glendele Skinny - Light Blue

1. A classic fit for Moussy Vintage, the Glendele is a low rise stretch skinny cut from what they call a “comfort stretch”: cotton, polyester, and a dash of spandex for a comfortable and body-hugging fit.  
2. These jeans are perfect for the petite with a 9” rise, a true mid-rise for those under 5’3” (ish), and rather low rise for those that are taller. This 26” frayed inseam allows you to keep the signature destruction without having to cut any of the details off.
3. Depending on your height pair this slim style with a boxy sweater like the New Bruzzi in Ivory from Parisian brand Loulou Studio. A lower rise let’s you show off the slightly cropped body of this cozy knit pullover.
4. This unique stretch skinny is cut in a summery bright blue wash with hits of bleached out fading and distressed patches throughout. Keep things sporty and chic and show a little ankle with a sneaker like the Golden Goose Superstar in Beige Canvas with Black Star.
5. Due to the addition of polyester and spandex we recommend taking your true size and letting them stretch to your unique body shape over time. Be aware that these will grow significantly and will become relaxed with wear.

Vienna Tapered - Blue

1. The Vienna Tapered is a perfect hybrid of color and fit of the Marshall Boy and the Glendele Skinny. These 100% cotton relaxed fit skinnies feature many vintage-inspired details but without any open holes and are a lower rise, shown here more like a slim boyfriend (we sized up).  
2. Another low mid-rise measuring at about 8.75”, these jeans are perfect for a quick “French” front tuck and a relaxed look. This style has no stretch and will be challenging to pull up like the Glendeles. We love these jeans with a full length top like the Linen Tank in Black by Anine Bing.
3. With an inseam of 26” and a leg opening of 10.25”, these cropped ankle length jeans hug taper down but are definitively not skinny. Wear these like a “girlfriend jean” lower rise and relaxed but not big and baggy.
4. Like most Moussy styles, these are incredibly rigid and will feel quite tight at first.  We always recommend sizing up if you’re not used to the feel of 100% cotton denim, but advise that they will soften and grow with wear. We sized up in this post for slouchy but not sloppy look. If you want these tight in the top block (waist and thighs) take your normal size, they will still grow a bit.

The Vienna will be cropped on most but for those that need it don’t be afraid to throw in a messy cuff or cut these yourself to make them yours. Show some skin with a low top sneaker or a subtle sandal like the Mia in Sand from TKEES.
