Summer might be slowly winding down but print is only picking up. Despite being staunch and dedicated minimalists, we’re feeling compelled to don some of the seasons colorful patterns and prints. While we’re not quite ready to commit to head to toe graphics, we’re enjoying grounding the bold textiles pieces with our favorite neutral basics. This week we’re showing you a few different ways to incorporate some fun graphics into your wardrobe without shaking things up too much.
Shown above: Anine Bing Deep Silk V Neck Tee in Black, Rails Nova Skirt in Green Daisies, Kayu Star Pouch in Natural, Golden Goose Superstar Sneakers in Black w/Metal Lettering.
The Nova Skirt from Rails is the perfect wrap skirt, sweet enough to wear on your next wine tasting trip but modest and chic for work. We love the versatility this graphic print gives, dress it up for a night out with a black cami and some strappy heels or keep it cute and casual with your favorite t-shirt (or sweatshirt) and your go-to Golden Goose. Wear this while it’s still hot out and then transition this into Fall and Winter with your best pair of black boots. The ruffle hem is a subtle detail that keeps this skirt feeling fun and flirty without looking overly girlish. This is a great silhouette for most body types but keep in mind the waistband is running a bit small without any stretch, we recommend you size up if you don’t have a particularly small waist.
Shown above: Rails Rhett Blouse in Ash Cheetah, AMO Denim Babe Jeans in Black Magic, Dolce Vita Ekko Flats in Black
The Rhett Blouse was made to help you transition into fall. This understated tonal cheetah honors the print du jour while offering the subtleties of a traditional silk button down. If you’re like us and wanting to sport an animal inspired look without looking too literal, shall we say, this blouse is a great way to pay a quiet homage to trend. Ideal for an all day look, pair this with your favorite black jeans (we’re obsessed with The Babe from AMO shown above) and a black heel or flat to keeps things polished and professional. Beware this shirt is intended to be drapey and loose but runs slightly on the larger side, size down if between sizes.
The London Skirt from Rails that blew out in blue returns to us in the color of the season - Marigold. Like a ray of sunshine, this skirt exudes happiness. To keep things bright and casual we’re grounding the skirt in a palette of easy, light neutrals. One of our all time favorite tees, the Headliner Crop in white is an affordable, soft crew neck tee that goes with everything. We’re sizing up so we can tuck it in with this high waisted skirt but it’s equally chic left untucked and cropped. Similar to the Nova, the London is running small in the waist, size up depending on how small waisted you are.
