2020 is whizzing past us faster than we can say “Pumpkin Spice Latte”, but we won’t let that stop us from switching gears and getting in the holiday spirit. Afterall, ‘tis the season for a denim refresh! Times are tough and wiggling your quarantine bod into some stiff denim isn’t on everyone's radar, but that’s why they invented stretch, and Moussy offers the “softest selvedge” out there. As we begin to feel the first chills of fall set in, along with shorter days and longer nights, we think it’s about time to bundle up and step into those thicker jeans. This Japanese based brand churns out one-of-a-kind handmade styles using premium both selvedge and stretch denim with an emphasis on perfection down to every single detail. Known for their tasteful, vintage-inspired signature distress and rigid fabrications, Moussy has gained a stellar reputation for being that “it” jean in all of our closets that lasts a lifetime. In this week’s Editorial, we are going to show and tell three of our favorite new styles; each a little different than the other with fresh, fits, washes and unique silhouettes.

The Glen Boy Skinny in Light Blue

• For the high rise lover, these 100% cotton tapered straights can be categorized as a “skinny girlfriend” fit with a flattering pinch waist rise of 11”.
• This chic exaggerated high rise pairs perfectly with cropped silhouette tops, or tucked in tees. We love how Moussy’s cropped  Rib Stitch Cardigan in Black emphasizes the waist for a cozy fall-forward look.
• The vintage inspired light blue wash features natural fading throughout with a clean leg for those looking for something without distress and a finished hem.  
• A 27.6” inseam and 6.4”leg opening, these trapered straights sit comfortably at the top of the ankle crop, with a loose fit hem that doesn't grip tight - perfect for pairing with any mule, we chose the Ekko Flat in Black by Dolce Vita.
• This is a great fit for those transitioning away from basic skinny jeans, but don’t want something too fashion-forward. If you’re a fan of the Levis 501, this is a similar silhouette.
• These are incredibly rigid but will soften and grow over time. We recommend sizing up if you are in-between sizes or not used to wearing non-stretch denim.

The Prichard Skinny in Black

• Opposite from their rigid, Moussy stretch skinnies are super soft (not jeggings!) and made from a mixture of cotton, polyester, and a dash of spandex for a comfortable, body-hugging fit.  
• This true mid-rise style features a 9.2” rise, sitting a little bit lower just above the hips. Juxtapose the slim fit with a relaxed graphic tee such as Anine Bing’s Lili City Love Tee in Washed Black for a tonal moment.  
• Moussy’s ‘comfort stretch’ is cut and dyed in a moody washed black color with bold whiskering and hits of bleached out fading/distress throughout. Break up the black and add a bold fashion sneaker like Golden Goose’s Running Sole in Leopard Pony with Silver Star.
• The inseam measures at a cropped length of 26.8” with a clean finished hem to balance out the rest of the distress. This is a true skinny jean so will hug the body throughout the length of the leg. 
• This jean is ideal for women petite with a shorter inseam, looking for a fall-forward skinny that is stretchy and comfortable.
• Due to the addition of polyester and spandex we recommend taking your true size and as tight as possible at purchase and let them break in over time. Be aware that these will grow tremendously (one full size) compared to the tighter fit when new. 

The Diana Skinny in Light Blue

• The Diana is an update on a classic Moussy fit and fabrication, this is a newer take on the beloved Glendele but without open holes.
• These are a comfortable mid rise tapered straight with a democratic rise measuring at 9”. A versatile rise for many different top lengths, but we wanted to keep it weather appropriate with Loulou Studio’s new slightly boxy cropped Giraglia Sweater in Ivory.
• Similar in wash to the Glen Boy, these blue skinnies feel like a classic vintage light wash, making them truly seasonless. Don’t be afraid of light wash for winter!
• We love the carefully placed distress and raw frayed hem, ideal for those wanting some destruction, but without overt open holes and skin exposure.
• Perfect for the petite, this 26” inseam and skinny leg opening of 10.25”, these crop length jeans hug the ankle comfortably without being too snug. We find that these are perfect for showing off a fun sneaker. Stay comfortable and edgy with a high top sneaker such as Golden Goose’s Navy Denim Slide.
• These stretchy jeans are perfect for those who like the vintage selvedge look but don’t want to put in the work of breaking in a 100% cotton pair. Take your true size (make sure they’re super tight) and let them soften even more with wear and grow about 1 full size. Throw them in a hot washer and dryer to get them to shrink back.
