How To: Style Early Spring

As we move through 2020 and embrace some February sunshine, designers start to launch their coveted spring collections. Color, softness and femininity are taking center stage this season with easy relaxed shapes and fabrications. Emerging from the depths of winter, early spring eases us into the brightness of blossoms, the warmth of sun. While the ground may still be cold, we celebrate the earliest glimmers of spring with style and color. In this week's editorial, we bring you our take on how to transition to early spring with fresh new arrivals.

Color is an obvious but perennial favorite of spring, and this year Harris Wharf is giving us perfect seasonal feels with their new Technic Overcoat in Nude. A gorgeous neutral with delicate traces of blush, this buttery soft Italian made neoprene layer is stunning in every way. We love the masculine contrast of a graphic tee under the soft hue of this coat, in this case opting for one of Anine Bing's grunge-inspired tees - the Georgie Mohawk Tee in Black. This oversized vintage-esque tee encapsulates the brand's rock-and-roll aesthetic. Keep things relaxed and soft with a quick “French tuck” into your favorite high rise jeans. We are loving AMO's brand-new High Rise Kick Crop in Topanga. Predicted to be the shape of the year, this high rise, retro silhouette is fitted through the hips and thighs and opens at the knee with a slight flare decorated with a raw hem. Tie the grunge-femme combo together with a loud yet tasteful sneaker, like Golden Goose's Superstar in Snow Leopard with Black Star. As animal print continues to be a massive trend in 2020, keep this classic calf hair pair in heavy rotation. Last but not least, top things off with Krewe's new Collins Nylon in Black + Black Crystal sunglasses, an iconic round shape with an oversized keyhole and angular temples. Its flat front lenses give this frame construction an unexpected twist, offering your everyday looks a modern twist.

For those who prefer outerwear with a little more structure, Anine Bing's new Fishbone Blazer in Black and White is to die for. A true wardrobe staple, Anine has perfected and updated the classic menswear-inspired silhouette. Feminine tailoring, cut from a luxurious Italian wool-blend makes for a modern menswear style, perfect to be worn comfortably from day-to-night. Pay homage to the timeless blazer and white tee alliance with AMO's new Scoop Neck Tee Slub Jersey in White. This beautiful Los Angeles made wide-cut crew is made from an ultra soft-to-the-touch slub fabrication. Tuck this drapey effortless tee into a pair of washed-black denim. We couldn't help but go with Agolde's top-selling style, the Riley High Rise Straight Crop in Black Pepper. This high rise jean features a tapered slim-straight fit with fading and distressing, giving them a vintage aesthetic. The addition of 2% elastane gives this "mom" style jean a closer and more comfortable fit. Tuck your AMO tee into these ankle-crops for the perfect put-together look. Keep things subtle and clean by opting for a chic black bootie, such as the Shanta Bootie in Black by Dolce Vita. These are the perfect (and comfortable all day) ankle hugging booties to pair with a straight leg jean. For your sunnies, keep things classic with a Krewe wireframe like the Earhart in 24k Titanium Polarized. This pair of sunglasses is a new and improved version of the aviator. Crafted from premium titanium, the silhouette, and gold brow bar make this a universally loved shade.

Sweater weather is still going strong, so why not step up your cropped cardi game with Anine Bing's Maxwell Cardigan in Indigo. This rib stitch open-front cardigan is constructed from a textured wool blend that is soft and easy to pair with just about everything. We love the boxy cut and “long crop” length paired with the drop shoulder and voluminous sleeve - making this a super cozy number that'll carry you through spring. Keep things neutral with an easy under layer such as AMO's Long Rib Tank in Black. Cut in a new slim rib fabrication, this tank is too chic and easy to skip out on. Tuck it all into DL1961's new and improved Jerry High Rise Vintage Straight in Edmund. Featuring an ultra high-rise with a contoured waistband in a super soft stretch denim fabric, this relaxed leg jean combines the look of vintage denim and modern comfort. Play up the gorgeous indigo hues found in your cardigan with a fun sneaker. We love the combination of color and subtle opulence found in Golden Goose's handmade Italian tennies - the Superstar in Hazelnut Nabuk Gold with Blue Star. These low-top sneakers come with hazelnut nubuck leather walls and metallic gold trim with a contrasting navy star. Bring everything together with a pair of warm-toned sunglasses, we love the spring-touch that Krewe's Howell in Sweet Tea Polarized adds to the tonal scheme. This style is one of six limited editions from the brand's collaboration with Billy Reid. Built to be your structured, every day sunny, the rounded acetate frame works on all genders and face shapes.
