“Black is the only color” is our traditional mantra for everyday wear here at Pavilion, but for early spring we’re making an exception for camel. It’s a noteworthy neutral that feels like a fresh departure from the traditional black, white, and grey rotation. Maybe you’re wondering, 'what about camel next to my pale winter skin?' It’s all about finding the right hue for you - well, that and makeup. All camels are not created equal so find the shade that’s right for you, if you’re fair or potentially even sallow, opt for a more saturated tone like this Dylan Coat (shown below) that creates more contrast rather than washing you out. If you end up in a softer, muted tone, like the Reversible V sweater shown below, breaking it up with layers and darker colors like this black Madeleine blazer are a great way prevent you from looking like death warmed over.
Camel can be a great place to invest as it’s a classic color that’s beautiful year round and breaks up the monotony of neutrals without overcommitting to a potentially loud and limiting color trend. Here’s a few of our favorite cozy camel pieces that will keep you feeling elevated and bright, straight ‘til summer.
