How to Wear Tie Dye

Hello Summer! Spring has officially come to a close, and here we are - summer 2020. This year may feel like a weird dream that we can’t wake up from, but it's crucial to focus on and enjoy the positives. While the arrival of COVID-19 was a game changer, it allowed all of us to discover new passions and projects. Whether you were the banana-bread lover or the whipped coffee fanatic, there was something that fascinated each of us and compelled our creative juices to flow. One of the biggest trends that surfaced throughout the world-wide shelter in place was DIY tie-dye! Simple and captivating, tie-dye has quickly swept our nation and became the spotlight trend of 2020. Not only are we doing it at home, but all of our favorite in-shop brands are joining in the fun and showing us their takes. In this week's Editorial, we are going to show you the latest and most excellent iterations of tie-dye that you can get at our shop. Keep reading for an exclusive and colorful style guide.
If you're looking for that perfect crewneck, but prefer something a bit  less literal, then AGOLDE's Balloon Sleeve Sweatshirt in Grapefruit Sunfade may hit the spot. This ultra-comfortable crew features a voluminous sleeve with a subtle crop body length that hits right above the waistband. We love the subtle dip-dye gradient effect they achieved with the combination of pink hues. Add some seasonal contrast to your look by reaching for a pair of washed black denim. We went with Moussy's Westcliffe Skinny High in Light Black. These tapered Moussy jeans gain a destroyed look from whiskering and natural fading throughout the leg length. These Japanese handmade jeans keep things comfortable and chic, handmade from a mixture of cotton with a touch of spandex. We love the ankle crop length combined with the subtle hits of fraying at the hem. Keep things fresh and classic with a fun sneaker that adds a little bit of clean texture. We love the ease we achieve when combining this look with Golden Goose's Superstar in White Cord Gum. This signature low top sneaker emulates urban style and traditional craft. This low top boasts the essential star applique updated with unique mesh uppers and a perforated toe box for ventilation.
With summer finally here, you may be ready for some seasonally appropriate crop tops. If you're on the hunt for a fun tie-dye short sleeve that can carry you all summer long, then look no further: Mitchell Evan's Colorado Crop Top in Sapphire is here. This limited edition tee by LA-based Mitchell Evan is part of their small-batch Crystal Collection, so act fast if it catches your eye. This lightweight 100% cotton garment-dyed tee features a perfectly airy and wide-body silhouette with a comfortable crop length without exposing too much. We love the classic fit combined with the one-of-a-kind super saturated tie-dye effect they were able to achieve. Keep things seasonally optimistic and appropriate with a pair of high rise denim shorts to agree with the “long cropped” body.  This one size fits most tee is intended to be slightly cropped and boxy, pair these with something high waisted and you won’t be bearing any belly. We’re styling this top with a slightly rolled sleeve cuff and are loving it tucked in or out. Another new summer addition, we love the modest yet chic aesthetic from AGOLDE's Reese Relaxed Cut Off Short in Precision. This short is the newest cutoff with the perfect amount of fading and fraying for a worn-in feel, and will pair endlessly with all of your favorite tees and tops, so of course, it matches perfectly with Mitchell Evan's Colorado Crop. Keep things neutral and straightforward in a relaxed summer sandal. We love the soft hand-feel and price point of TKEES' Jo Sandal in Hazelton. This strappy lace up silhouette makes for a beautiful elevated combination. The safari tone is the perfect seasonal neutral to pair back to all of your summerwear.
