Skirts are notoriously difficult to style so we’re showing you how to wear a few of our new favorites for the season. These are two great silhouettes to take to work or wear wine tasting. We’re loving the midis as length is a key component to making sure a skirt doesn’t look too casual, fancy or inappropriate. We think these two are perfect for most casual occasions, best worn simply as a set or with your favorite tee.

Two piece skirt sets can easily look a bit young and perhaps even tawdry if not done correctly; but we’re loving this classic eyelet set from DL1961 as a fresh approach to spring. Part of what makes this pair so perfect is the option to bare midriff or take a more dress-like approach. While the top is irrefutably cropped, the skirt is very high-waisted with elastic in the back to be adjusted over how much ‘ab’ you may or may not want to share. Sold as two separate pieces you can split them to up your cost per wear, or keep things matching and lady-like. We love the idea of transitioning this outfit with a light spring sweater (as pictured) and bringing it with you on your European summer extravaganza.

The beloved Bar Skirt from Anine Bing is back but this time in Python. Animal prints are the thing for spring (through fall!) and this is one we feel that’s worth investing in. While we typically shy away from loud prints, the caramel hues of this skirt feel organic and neutral making it easier to ground with easy neutrals like black and white. Of course it’s easy to dress up a silk skirt but since we’re always focused on how to wear things as much, and as often as possible, so we’re still opting for easy tees over lady-like blouses. Make these even more casual with your favorite pair of Golden Goose sneakers or keep things cool with a black leather boot like the Shanta boots shown below.
