  • Wear: Plated jewelry has the shortest shelf life, so always be sure to put it on last, and take it off first. Avoid contact with oils, sweat and liquids to keep the plating from tarnishing.

  • Care: Always gently wipe plated pieces with a soft jewelry cloth after each wear to remove tarnish-causing agents like oil and sweat. Take care not to rub harshly to avoid disrupting the plated finish.

  • Storage: After wiping down, store plated jewelry in individual airtight plastic bags to avoid abrasions and oxidation. After placing it in its bag press gently to release all airflow before sealing.

  • Wear: Gold filled can be worn while showering, sweating or sleeping without tarnishing but keep it away from humidity and direct sunlight to avoid dulling its shine. Limit exposure to harsh chemicals like perfumes, salt and chlorine to maintain long-term luster.

  • Care: Occasionally expose filled gold to water and mild soap in the shower to remove excess build-up and debris–just make certain the soap is very mild and always rinse thoroughly!

  • Storage: To limit any potential dullness due to oxidation, store in dark, humidity-free boxes and pouches.

  • Wear: Solid gold can be worn irrespective of activities and duration of time, but be mindful of its caratage as higher carats are softer golds which can more easily dent and ding with wear. Avoid long-term exposure to direct sunlight to preserve sheen.
  • Care: Occasionally dip solid gold into a shallow bath of water and very mild soap, and allow it to sit for several minutes before gently rinsing away debris and dirt particles, drying with a soft cloth. Be mindful of gold near sink drains!

  • Storage: Solid gold will not oxidize so it can be stored in uncovered jewelry boxes but ideally kept separate from other pieces to limit any chance of tangling and dinging.
